Top seed Belinda Bencic progresses as Zhang Shuai and Wang Yafan lose in straight sets.
Zhang Shuai and Wang Yafan, China's last two representatives, were eliminated from the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open on Wednesday.
- Zhang Shuai lost to Russia's Anna Kalinskaya 6-1, 6-1.
- Wang Yafan was defeated by Switzerland's Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-2.
"I felt good on the court," Bencic said. "I tried to play aggressively, tried to play my game, and it worked out well.
Bencic, the Swiss No 1, continues her climb into the world top 10 after being ranked '913 or something' a year ago.
