Threads Introduces Ephemeral Content
Meta has launched a new feature on Threads, called "ghost posts", which automatically disappear after 24 hours. This feature allows users to share thoughts or quick takes without worrying about permanent posts.
Replies to ghost posts will be sent directly to the user's messaging inbox, and only the original poster can see who liked or replied. To create a ghost post, users simply need to toggle on the ghost icon when posting.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the feature on Threads, and his post is an example of a ghost post, marked by a dotted outline. Profiles will also have a section for ghost posts.
