The Jacaranda Paper is a synthesis of African feminist thought leadership from a convening in Nairobi, co-organized by Akina Mama wa Afrika, The Nawi Collective, and ActionAid International.
It captures collective reflections, critiques, and propositions of African feminists seeking alternatives to neoliberalism and its impacts on the continent.
A wealth of African feminist research and knowledge on neoliberalism exists, yet it has been largely excluded from conversations on the topic.
Despite more than a decade of the crisis of neoliberalism, the myth that ‘there is no alternative’ persists outside of progressive circles.
