A 65-year-old man from Gainesville, Hayward Eugene Fuller, has been charged with false imprisonment and possession of methamphetamine after a domestic incident near the Tom Arrendale Interchange in Habersham County.
According to the Habersham County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to Toccoa Highway on Monday at around 5 p.m. following reports of a carjacking. However, investigators found that the report was due to confusion from an uninvolved 9-1-1 caller.
A female victim in Fuller's vehicle was being held against her will, and an altercation occurred between the two. When they stopped at a business, Fuller got out of the vehicle, and the victim fled in the car.
Fuller allegedly had an old scab on his arm that began bleeding during the altercation, leading a 9-1-1 caller to report a stabbing.
No statement from the authorities or the suspect has been released.
