The Indigo Press Acquires Mayfly Season
The Indigo Press has acquired the rights to publish Mayfly Season, a novel by Matthias Jügler, translated by Jo Heinrich.
Publisher Susie Nicklin purchased world English-language rights from Gesche Wendebourg at Penguin Germany.
The book is set to be published in B-format paperback on May 14th, 2026.
"1978, near Leipzig, East Germany. For Katrin and Hans, every parent’s worst nightmare comes true when they are told that their newborn baby Daniel has died. Amid the shock and horror of the news, Katrin doubts what the doctors have told her, feeling that they are lying and that Daniel is still alive: doubts which lead to the end of their marriage."
The story takes a turn when, after the collapse of the GDR, Hans receives an unexpected phone call, prompting him to investigate the past.
