Welsh Government's TB Move Praised by FUW
The Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) has welcomed the Welsh Government's announcement on Bovine TB, calling it a
“practical, evidence-led step”.
Following a review by the TB Technical Advisory Group, it was found that cattle previously classified as resolved inconclusive reactors are three times more likely to be identified as reactors or have positive cases later on.
- Cattle in Wales identified as resolved inconclusive reactors from 1 January 2026 will face lifelong movement restrictions.
- These animals can only move directly to slaughterhouses or Approved Finishing Units via licensed routes.
