Students at Mineola Middle School were given the opportunity to decorate three of the district's buses with messages promoting kindness and acceptance as part of Unity Day activities.
Fifth through seventh graders worked together to cover the buses with hundreds of heartfelt messages, such as
“Love One Another,” “No Bullying,”and
“Be Kind.”
National Unity Day, observed annually in October, aims to promote kindness and end bullying in schools across the country.
Students, educators, and communities participate by wearing orange and taking part in activities that celebrate diversity and inclusivity.
The decorated buses will eventually return to normal after a few rainstorms, as the ink used was washable.
