Etsy Names New CEO
Kruti Patel Goyal, former head of Depop, will replace Josh Silverman as Etsy's CEO by the end of the year.
Silverman, who led the marketplace for eight years, will become executive chairman. Goyal has over 10 years of experience at Etsy and previously led Depop, a social-commerce platform acquired by Etsy four years ago.
- Goyal has been Etsy's president and chief growth officer for about seven months.
- In the third quarter, active buyers on Etsy fell 5% to 86.6 million from the previous year.
Etsy may be looking to Goyal's experience leading Depop to help revive growth.
