Following the recent scandal at ELTE, thousands of international students in Hungary may face tightened scholarship contracts.
A lecture by Alexander Yakobson, a historian from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was disrupted on 16 October, prompting two ministers and the university rector to demand accountability.
“Diverzitás és demokrácia az izraeli társadalomban”
The issue began when some students attending the first session wore keffiyehs and shouted that the lecture was political propaganda supporting Israeli genocide, forcing the lecture to be halted.
The university's security failed to restore order, resulting in the suspension of the lecture series, with only two of the three sessions available online.
