Michael Clark Murder Defense Seeks to Link Case to JonBenét Investigation 'Mistakes'
Michael Clark, facing a retrial for a 1994 murder, is seeking documents that link his case with the infamous 1996 JonBenét Ramsey investigation.
In new legal filings, Clark's defense team is attempting to link alleged Boulder police missteps in his case with the city's most notorious cold case: JonBenét Ramsey.
Clark was convicted in 2012 and sentenced to life without parole for the murder of Marty Grisham, a crime he has maintained he did not commit for over 30 years.
- The case went unsolved for 17 years before being resurrected largely on the strength of later DNA analysis and testimony from now-discredited Colorado Bureau of Investigation forensic scientist Yvonne Woods.
- Clark's defense team has filed 12 subpoenas to Boulder authorities seeking documents and other information connected to the Clark case in advance of his scheduled 2026 retrial.
Clark has said for more than 30 years he did not commit the crime.
