Power Outage in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley

A car crash on Saturday morning caused heavy damage to transformers, leading to a power outage affecting thousands of residents in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley.

According to Puget Sound Energy, more than 5,400 customers in Sedro-Woolley and Burlington lost power, with over 1,000 customers in Sedro-Woolley still without power as of 1 p.m.

A motor vehicle crash around 7 a.m. at Wicker Road and Fruitdale Road likely led to the large power outage.

The Sedro-Woolley police reported that multiple transformers sustained heavy damage, causing an extended delay in restoring power. Police were able to extract the passengers of the vehicle and lead them away from the scene.
