Queens Botanical Garden to Host Annual 'Pumpkin Smash'
The Queens Botanical Garden will host a second-annual community Pumpkin Smash, encouraging local residents to dispose of their Halloween pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns.
The event, hosted by State Sen. John Liu, Assembly Member Nily Rozic, and Council Member Sandra Ung, will feature a custom-made catapult to launch leftover pumpkins into the air, smashing them into compostable pieces.

- Free event with a "pumpkin catapult" and free apple cider and countertop compost containers while stocks last.
The event aims to educate members of the community about the benefits of sustainable composting.
