Aaron LaPoe, head coach of the Clay-Battelle football team, is on the verge of leading his team to the school's highest-ever state ranking.
LaPoe has experience with successful teams, having been the offensive line coach at Capital High when they won the state championship, ending Martinsburg's four-year reign and defeating South Charleston 55-15.
