Kraken Players Help Spread Gift Of Ball Hockey
Ryan Winterton and Tye Kartye visited Rainier Prep Middle School, donating time and equipment for a two-month after-school ball hockey program.
Ryan Winterton never had NHL players come to his school while growing up, but remembers how excited he’d be even getting to meet local major junior-level hockey products.
Winterton and Kartye, through the team’s One Roof Foundation, staged a Power Play PE Takeover, launching the program for about 60 fifth- and sixth-graders in the South Seattle/Burien area.
