Meals on Wheels South Florida has announced the launch of its Senior SNAP Relief Program to provide emergency nutrition support for seniors affected by the decrease in federal SNAP benefits, set to occur on November 1.
The initiative offers four weeks of meals, including two deliveries of 14 dinners and 14 shelf-stable breakfasts, to eligible seniors who lose SNAP benefits. To be eligible, applicants must meet standard Meals on Wheels South Florida criteria and provide documentation showing prior SNAP participation.
“We recognize the significant impact the SNAP cuts will have on many of our most vulnerable senior neighbors,” said Wendy Bourgault, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels South Florida.
