Eden Prairie Works to Restore Prairie Bluff Conservation Area

Neighbors and the city of Eden Prairie are asking visitors to respect Prairie Bluff and stay on the paved path to prevent damage to the conservation area.

Prairie Bluff Conservation Area, located on the south end of Eden Prairie, is one of Minnesota's last native prairies and attracts local residents and professional photographers for its natural beauty.

In an effort to protect the area, the city added new signage, additional barriers, and a mobile police camera at the entrance on Indigo Drive in September.

“Concerned residents are the driving force behind why the closure has happened,” said Amy Markle, Eden Prairie parks and recreation director.

The city has fenced off the overlook point and closed access to the area to restore it from severe damage sustained from people going off trail.
