Despite having seven players sidelined by injury, including defenceman Quinn Hughes, the Canucks managed to hold off the Oilers. Hughes is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson also scored for the Canucks, while goalie Thatcher Demko made 26 saves.
Leon Draisaitl and Jack Roslovic replied for the Oilers, with Calvin Pickard taking the loss in goal, stopping 23 shots. Boeser opened the scoring in the first period, taking a feed from Evander Kane and backhanding a shot past Pickard for his fourth goal of the year.
The Canucks will host the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
