Nepal Intensifies Preparations for COP-30
Nepal is preparing for the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP-30) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, scheduled to take place from November 10 to 21 in Belem, Brazil.
COP-30 will focus on discussions around various topics, including:
- fossil fuel consumption displacement
- enhancement of forest, ocean and biodiversity conservation
- transformation of agriculture and food systems
- human welfare and social development
- technology and capacity building
Nepal will present nine agendas, including the Sagarmatha Call for Action, which aims to protect the mountains, as concluded from the Sagarmatha Sambaad (Dialogue) held in Kathmandu on May 16-18 this year.
The Brazilian government has put forward a proposal for COP-30 discussions.
