Disappointing Read: "Gone Before Goodbye" Falls Flat
Reese Witherspoon's book club has been championing female authors since 2017, with past picks including Emily Henry's "Great Big Beautiful Life" and Celeste Ng's "Our Missing Hearts".
Witherspoon has now released her own thriller novel, "Gone Before Goodbye", a collaboration with Harlan Coben. The story follows Maggie McCabe, a former Army surgeon who lost her medical license after a series of tragic events.
"Gone Before Goodbye" tells the story of Maggie McCabe, who takes a lucrative yet secretive overseas job to help her sister out of debt.
The novel was published on the 14th, marking Witherspoon's first adult novel. As a book lover, the author was excited to dive in, but unfortunately, the book falls flat.
