Liberal frontbencher James Paterson has urged the Coalition to unite, warning against leaning into its ongoing ideological split.
The Liberal Party must resist the “false choices” facing it and end “the ongoing mass public therapy session” to repair reputational damage.
According to Paterson, a more progressive agenda would lead to a "soulless, hollow party" while embracing "Farage-lite" conservatism would result in "a new nationalism of picking winners and turning our backs on free trade".
Paterson emphasized the need for the party to move forward, saying it must "call time on the apology tour".
