Snowmaking operations signal the countdown to ski season

Snowmaking Operations Begin

Ski resorts in Colorado, including A-Basin, Keystone, and Loveland, have started their snowmaking operations, signaling the countdown to the ski season.

Crews at the resorts work at night and in the early morning to make snow, with a mission to create the best conditions for skiers and snowboarders.

Our snowmakers are people who are passionate about the ski and snowboard community. These are people who chase snow year-round.

They use digital monitors to measure the wet-bulb temperature, which combines air temperature and humidity levels, to optimize snowmaking.

The first round of snowmaking took place at Arapahoe Basin, Keystone Resort, and Loveland Ski Area, from Sunday night into Monday morning.
