Apple Discontinues Support for Clips App
Apple has announced that it will no longer provide updates for its Clips app, effectively ending its competition with Snapchat.
The app, which allowed users to create and share short videos, has been removed from the App Store as of October 10, and new users can no longer download it. However, existing users can continue to use the app, and those who have previously downloaded it can still redownload it.
Apple says to save any videos you want to keep as there's no guarantee they'll stick around if the app stops working.
The demise of Clips is a testament to Snapchat's dominance in the short-form video sharing space, with Instagram Stories also struggling to keep up.
