A KIDDERMINSTER man is celebrating after winning a life-changing £1m lottery jackpot.
The lucky winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, scooped the top prize in the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday, April 12.
Speaking to the Mail, he said: "I couldn't believe it when I saw my numbers. I had to check them twice to make sure. It's a dream come true."
The winner, who works in the construction industry, said he plans to use the cash to pay off his mortgage and save for his family's future.
He added: "I'm still in shock, to be honest. It's going to take some time to sink in. I'm just grateful to have my wife and kids to share it with."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the National Lottery said: "We're absolutely delighted for our winner and wish him all the best in his future.
They added: "It's a fantastic feeling to win the lottery, and we're thrilled that he's decided to share his story with us."
The winner has opted to remain anonymous, but has given the Mail permission to share his story and photo.
He said: "I just want to enjoy this moment and not have to deal with all the attention that comes with winning the lottery."
When asked what he would do with the cash, he replied: "Pay off my mortgage, save for my family's future, and maybe treat myself to a new car."
He added: "I'm just grateful to have my health and my family. That's all that matters to me."
