Paul Rodgers, the original vocalist of the English rock band Bad Company, announced he will be absent from the band's 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction due to health concerns. The ceremony takes place on Saturday, honoring Bad Company as part of the new class.
Rodgers had intended to perform alongside former bandmate and drummer Simon Kirke during the event but shared on Bad Company’s Instagram:
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health.”
Though Rodgers did not specify his current condition, he previously revealed to CBS News that he suffered two major strokes in 2016 and 2019, along with 11 minor strokes, which temporarily impaired his speech.
“I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else,” Rodgers said. “Simon along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me — guaranteed to rock.”
Paul Rodgers prioritizes his health over performing at Bad Company's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, while trusted musicians will honor the band's legacy in his absence.
