Rock Legend, 75, to Skip Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction to Prioritize Health

Paul Rodgers, lead singer of Bad Company and former member of Free and The Firm, announced he will not attend the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. He shared this news in an Instagram post earlier this week.

Rodgers, 75, wrote on November 3:

“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health.”

He explained further,

“I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding.”

Rodgers confirmed that longtime bandmate Simon Kirke, along with other talented musicians, will perform in his place at the ceremony, promising a great show.

Rodgers and Kirke had previously planned to reunite as the only surviving members from the band's original lineup on stage for this event.

Though Rodgers did not disclose specific health details related to his current condition, he had revealed in a 2023 interview on CBS Mornings that he had experienced 13 strokes over several years. While 11 were minor, two were severe enough to leave him temporarily unable to speak.

“I couldn’t do anything to be honest,” Rodgers said at the time.

Summary: Paul Rodgers will miss the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction to focus on his health, entrusting his bandmates to deliver a strong performance.
