The Christmas Pageant will mark the official start of the festive season tomorrow morning. With more than 300,000 visitors expected, city drivers are urged to plan their trips carefully due to several road closures across the CBD.
Major streets will be closed from early morning until the afternoon. A full list of closures is available on the official Christmas Pageant website.
This year’s event will follow its traditional route: beginning at South Terrace, proceeding along King William Street, skirting the western edge of Tarntanyangga, then through Reconciliation Plaza, Wakefield Street, Pulteney Street, North Terrace, and ending at Beehive Corner.
“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said RAA Senior Manager for Safety and Infrastructure, Charles Mountain.
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
Author’s summary: Tomorrow’s Christmas Pageant will attract hundreds of thousands to the city, so drivers should prepare for major road closures and limited parking across the CBD.
